Looking for something more one-on-one? We now offer private lessons & frequenly offer beginning AND intermediate focused series. (These are not included in the Dance Memberships)

Pole Foundations

Monday
Flow: All level drop in class focused on dance elements of pole. Classes will range from freestyle, to combos, to choreography. Along with musicality, fluidity, flow, grace, varying dance styles, and expression/emoting.

Suitable for beginners

Knee pads and layers recommended. Heels welcomed but not required.

Wednesdays
Pole Foundations – Skills and drills: weekly drop in suitable for all levels including beginner. We will learn on static initially with opportunities to explore spin pole options.

Class will cover foundational conditioning, basic pole shapes and spins. Emphasis on learning to climb and invert safely. No prior experience necessary, no upper body strength necessary, I can help you with both!

Static Pole Class

Pole power Lab at Lloyd 

 

Pole Power Lab at LAC is a dynamic strength training class designed specifically for pole dancers who want to build the muscular foundation needed for advanced tricks, climbs, and spins. Whether you’re a beginner looking to develop core and upper body strength or an experienced dancer aiming to improve your endurance and power, this class provides targeted exercises to boost your pole performance.

Key highlights of the class include:

Strength & Conditioning: Focused routines to improve grip strength, core stability, and upper body power.

Functional Training: Exercises designed to mimic the demands of pole dancing, helping you build the strength required for key movements like inverts, holds, and spins.

Mobility & Flexibility: Dedicated segments to enhance mobility, injury prevention, and flexibility, ensuring your muscles are well-prepared for pole moves.

Kat Morton - Instructor

Artistic Direct & Instructor: Kat is a lifelong dancer with a passion for pole. When not in the studio she is spending time with her partner, cooking and/or baking, and dreaming up new ways to incorporate more types of dance into pole. She believes in community over competition, and that dance is for all bodies and abilities. There’s a place for everyone in pole. 

This class is appropriate for any level of Pole Dancing. From complete novices to more advanced students. 

Hello! I’m Laura Trefethen (she/her), excited to share my passion for pole dance. With 6 years of pole dancing experience and 13 years as a personal trainer, I blend expertise and enthusiasm in my teaching. As a certified Expert Pole instructor, I guide students of all levels to discover the joy of this art form. I offer classes for everyone—from beginners to advanced dancers—along with partner sessions and workshops exploring various techniques. My competitive experience in doubles has sharpened my skills, allowing me to effectively support students of all backgrounds. I create a welcoming environment for students to explore their preferences and develop their unique style. Whether your goal is to build strength, learn new tricks, or simply enjoy the practice, I’m here to support you. Punchcard or drop in guests have access to the Pole Dance Studio and/or may attend classes during their visit. They never expire and will sit digitally in your account at the gym. They also have access to all Lloyd Athletic Club facilities and our amenities.
